Select English, London operates out of two lovely Victorian buildings in Crystal Palace, London. One building houses all of the classrooms and offices and the other building is the school residence including the school cafeteria and a beautiful garden.

Price Range: £83 to £135 per week
General English courses run all year round and students can start on any Monday. We offer General English language training courses as well as Cambridge Exam preparation classes and 1-to-1 tuition. Students can choose to study 15 or 25 hours per week.Levels
All students are given a level test on their first Monday and will be placed in a class of the appropriate level, from Elementary to advanced plus.
All of our teachers are experienced and hold recognised EFL teaching qualifications. The maximum class size is 14. All learning materials are provided.
All levels have an on-going 8 week syllabus. Progress is monitored throughout the course. The 15 hour course offers grammar based lessons linked to a variety of topics. The 25 hour course offers skills based lessons in addition to this.
On completion of their course, students receive a certificate stating the level attained. A report from your teachers outlining progress made during the course is available on request.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is an English language assessment, used primarily by those seeking international education or professional recognition. It is increasingly becoming the most widely recognised international measures of English ability for university entrants.
Tuition: The IELTS course consists of 10 hours IELTS preparation and 15 hours general English per week.
Level: Students must be at least upper intermediate level (according to our placement test) to join this course.
Exam: The IELTS exam can be taken as part of the course, but is not compulsory. The exam can be booked through the school and is available on most Saturdays throughout the year.
Cambridge Exam Preparation Courses: FCE & CAES
Select English London has been a Cambridge Exam Centre since the 1960's. Cambridge exams are a leading range of certificates for learners of English and are recognised all over the world.. Each year around 1.5 million students in 135 countries sit one of the Cambridge exams.
Dates: Select London offers preparation courses for FCE and CAE during March, June and September. The courses begin up to nine weeks before the exam date.
Tuition: The FCE and CAE courses consist of 10 hours FCE or CAE preparation and 15 hours general English per week.
Level: Students need to be at least upper intermediate level for the FCE course, and at least advanced level for the CAE course.
Exam: The FCE and CAE exams can be taken as part of the course but are not compulsory.
The professional Internship Programme is an unpaid work placement in a UK company. The programme is ideal for students and young professionals who want to improve their English in a working environment and gain practical knowledge of a UK business sector. This programme is most suited to students who have studied or worked, or are planning to study or work in the requested sector in the future. Please Contact us for more information on how to apply. Age: Candidates should be between 18 and 32 years old.
English Language Course: The internship programme has to be proceeded by an English language course of at least 4 weeks in duration. Candidates from outside the EU have to study an English course which totals the same number of weeks as their internship.
Length of Internship: The internship should be a minimum of 4 weeks in duration. There is no maximum length. Internships of 4 months or more incur an extra charge.
Placements: Placements are available in the following sectors; Marketing, Architecture, Business Administration, Fashion, Engineering, Law, Advertising, PR and many more.
Level of English: Students should have a level of English of intermediate to upper intermediate
Location and Accommodation: Most placements are in London. If it is convenient, candidates can stay in our school residence or in homestay accommodation for the duration of their internship. We can also assist in finding alternative accommodation.
Accommodations Price starts from £115 per week
Residential: Our school residence is a large Victorian house located next to the school. It is open all year round and can be booked in combination with an English course for a minimum of two weeks. Students must be at least 18 years old to stay in our residence.
Location: The residence is conveniently located two doors from the school.
Rooms: The residence has 7 single and 2 twin rooms.
Showers and Toilets: Most rooms have showers. For rooms that don't have showers there are showers located on each floor. There are toilets on each floor.
Internet and TV: Wireless internet is available free of charge. All rooms have a TV.
Warden: There is a live-in warden who is resposible for student's welfare during their stay.
Meals: Breakfast is included in the residence fees and is provided every day in the school cafeteria. You can buy hot lunches from the cafeteria Monday - Friday. There is a communal kitchen where you can prepare your own meals.
Communal Facilities: There is a TV room, kitchen, lounge area, table tennis room and garden for the use of all residential students.
Laundry: Bed linen is washed once a week. Students have to do their own laundry at a local laundrette. Students need to bring their own towels
We can arrange for students to stay in local homestay accommodation. Staying in homestay is an excellent way of getting to know British culture better and provides you with the opportunity to practise your English more frequently.
All of our homestay accommodation is chosen and regularly inspected by our Accommodation Officer. Most homestay accommodation is within walking distance of the school or a short bus ride away.
